But in my experience, it’s the small, steady improvements that make the biggest difference. Not just for your brand, but for how confident you feel showing up in it.
I have seen it again and again. A few thoughtful tweaks can shift how clearly people understand what you do, and how proud you feel to share it.
It could be updating the words on your website so they finally sound like you.
It might be simplifying your navigation so people can find what they came for without frustration.
Or refreshing your visuals so they feel consistent across every platform.
Tiny changes like these build clarity, confidence and trust. Together they change how your business feels to run, and how others experience it.
For Anna from Anna Mudd Painting, creating lawn signs gave her team more visibility while working on site. Simple, bold and clearly branded signs meant neighbours could instantly see who was behind the work.
Branded buckets also became a fun idea for client gifts. Practical, distinctive and very her. A small, joyful touch that keeps her business top of mind long after the job is finished.
The Kids’ Cancer Project had sweet little illustrations of their "Geodudes" that carried so much heart. As soon as I saw them, I just wanted to make them move. It paid off. These assets were seldom used before, but we now have future plans to continue animating their collection. These animations aren't just limited to web, they can now be used across social media, video outputs, or even email signatures.

At Oh Ramona, a clothing store, postcards were designed to serve more than one purpose. They work as promo cards and also sit inside each order as a thank you.
Choosing uncoated stock allowed Cara to handwrite personal notes on every card without any risk of smudges. That handwritten moment is a perfect example of a 1 percent tweak. It only takes a few seconds, yet leaves customers feeling genuinely cared for.
One of my clients relies heavily on RFQs to win work. Long PDF submissions were not helping them stand out, and felt disconnected from their brand.
A small update to their content management system changed everything. They can now create a custom landing page for each RFQ within minutes. It looks polished, respects the time of the reviewer and shows real thoughtfulness.
All of these examples have something in common. Small improvements created meaningful results. Each brand felt more confident, more cohesive and more ready to be seen.
The same happened when I refined my own brand and clarified how to talk about my work. Showing up became easier. The clarity supported my confidence, and that confidence supported my clients.
Before rebuilding your website or tossing your brand in the bin, it helps to ask a few simple questions.
What could be simplified?
What could be clearer?
What would help you feel proud to share your work?
